For something unique, the pub also highlights Tequila, heralded as “The Misunderstood Spirit,” encouraging guests to explore beyond the usual pub fare.
The Dartmoor Halfway Inn pays special attention to inclusivity, delighting guests with specific dietary needs. One visitor with celiac disease praised their gluten-free battered haddock, served steaming hot alongside minted peas, showing how attentively the kitchen handles special requests. Families will appreciate the lovely play area that keeps younger children entertained, making the inn a great choice for all ages.
On warm days, the beer garden terrace offers a tranquil spot to sip a refreshing drink or enjoy a leisurely meal in fresh air, enhancing the pub’s inviting and relaxed vibe. And don’t forget to save room for dessert — the sticky toffee pudding is a local favorite, richly indulgent and the perfect sweet note to end a satisfying meal.

Whether you’re dropping by for breakfast, a family roast, or an evening bite after camping nearby, the culinary delights and warm hospitality here leave a lasting impression that beckons a return visit.
Stopping in the Campsite behind the pub, so thought we'd pop for an evening meal. Overall, a pleasant experience. The Good: - The staff were friendly, welcoming and professional. - The food was tasty and hot. - The puddings were incredible! - Beer garden/Terrace was nice. - Great little play area for younger kids. - The inside of the pub was very traditional, and quaint, but with a modern approach. The Bad: - Nothing really. Just a few areas I feel they could do better. Could do better: - Pricing. It's a little steep for what I would consider "posh pub grub". Dishes for kids are around £8.50 and for adults they range from £18 to £25. A family of five (like ourselves), who have four adult meals and one kids meal, soon clocks up a small fortune of a bill. - Discount if staying on site? A 10-15% discount on food would be a nice incentive for paying caravan site guests to come and visit and spend an evening at the pub. Overall a solid 4* experience.
Went there last night with family. I'm very celiac, it was not a problem. Had gluten free battered haddock chips and minted peas. Just fantastic. My sister in law had vegetarian green Thai curry which she said was excellent. Would definitely go back. We were served by a lovely waitress by the name of Rose and the chef for reassuring it was all prepared separately. Excellent
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room was well presented, roomy and clean. Great shower. All the necessary facilities you would expect in a room. Bed super comfy. Just be aware from rooms, you do need to walk outside to enter pub but no problem. All staff in pub really friendly and meals were great, tasty and excellent portions. We really couldn't fault it!
